Trip to Bandar Brunei on Xmas Day

Got the chance to have a whole day off on 25th December, of course I won't let it go on waste larr.. So, Ah Yee decided we should head up to Brunei for the day to check out the Escapade in Gadung and then catch a movie at Empire hotel - never been there bah.. sa kai ba..

There was no traffic at all at custom that day, guess everyone was still havin their hang over from Xmas eve celebration. Anyway, we managed to get to Brunei city in just 1hr 30mins time. Head straight to the Escapade sushi place and order a feast cause we were all starving!

The restaurant was full of ppl when we got there and thank God luckily a group of ppl left the min we got there so we had a table available for us. The food were nice (as usual) and the services the provide there was extremely fast compare to MOST of the Japanese restaurants I know.

It's weird cause the price for the food here is really cheap. I dunno how they do it. If in Miri, we have this kind of service and food quality, I m sure it will cost a small fortune.

Maybe they should open another branch in Miri!! I'm sure there will be a lot of demands. And we locals, won't have to drive all the way up here every single time we wanted to try some decent Japanese cuisine.

Finally after 1hr, we fnished our nice lunch. Ordered some desserts and after clearin that one out, we're off to do some light shopping - more like window shopping.

Imagine having all those nice food and it only cost B$71.10 which equals to less den RM2oo.. omigosh.. Bruneian, u guys are so damn lucky!!

The Mall

After thinkin a while, we decided to head to the mall since we still have some extra time to spare before our movie starts.

I forgot it was a public holiday too up here. The place was packed!! We were stucked in traffic for at least 30mins - not too long la so I won't be complaining much.

But my little driver here was getting a little pissed off with the traffic jam & also me cam-whoring in the car.. kekeke.. (yerr.. wat's with the serious face?)

Anyway, we spend bout 1hr in The Mall then we head straight to Empire Hotel to watch "THE BEDTIME STORY" by Adam Sandler. A nice movie to have a good laugh.

Empire is a nice hotel - nice view - nice pool and nice cinema. Definitely will come and stay for a nite someday soon.

Btw, Patt.. I forgive u for not replying me. I know understand how much u don't wanna see me on Christmas Day although I drove all the way up here just to have a little small warm hug from u.. sigh.. I understand.. (hehehe)

Xmas for 2008

It's that time of the year again - our saviour birthday. So how was all your Xmas celebrations gang?? had a good one this year??

As for me, I had a wonderful time. No chiong-ing this year since CCH is not around. I spent my Xmas with my family and got quite a few nice pressies this year.

On Xmas Eve, after our nice Xmas dinner at Marriott, we all went back home and have our Xmas lucky draw!! - which me and my cousin Ann had been so darn busy preparing for it for the whole month. Although we din end up with the grand prize, but still, it's the joy of sharing that counts rite?? hahahhaa..

We had to prepare a total of 26 gifts that is for unisex and suit everyone from age 7 until 70!! and yes, it was a hard task!!!

My mom got what she want! she has been praying she'll get the bedsheet and guess what, she did!! darn she is good..

Tune Hotel, Kota Kinabalu

After some serious thoughts, my nihongo classmates and I decided to stay at Tune Hotel (AirAsia budget hotel) for our trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. It's a good thing for me since' the hotel itself is considered in same building as 1borneo shopping mall (save me the walk)

Anyway, we paid RM35 (per nite) including 12hrs air-con (yes, u need to pay for that one too). Obviously, u need to pay for almost everything here, luckily we don't have to pay for every flush of the toilet bowl. But still, I've never stay in a cheaper hotel.

Me and Kelly (my room-mate for the trip) stayed in Room 229 - not gonna say it's a lucky number tho..

I don usually complains but.. the room was really very very small. Like they say, "u get for wat u pay for". Well, at least the room looks brand new and CLEAN - definitely recommanded for budget travellers.

see.. told ya it's a tiny room! Look at the size of that corridor.

Only one person can walk at one time. I had to lay on the bed most of the time since Kelly likes to walk around so much. Oh well, wat can u expect from paying only RM30 per nite. It's hard to use the word "spacious" when u're staying in this hotel.

Everything is Red & White here, no suprise since it is their signature colour. You can see CIMB Bank advertisement EVERYWHERE in this hotel. Guess that is wat u get for getting a loan from a bank. There is a huge plate of CIMB advertisement just right in front of my bed. So, that's the 1st thing & last thing I see before I go to bed - now u know why I am saying I had CIMB nightmares when I was there??

There's a tiny 7-eleven store just at the lobby.

When there is a budget hotel, there MUST be a 24hrs store nearby. It's like the rules of budget hotels. AND.. most of the time, the 24hrs store price are outrages. I paid RM2.10 for a bottle of drinking water that cost only RM0.99 if u buy elsewhere.. wtf..

This is the so-called hotel's restaurant.

They do provide shuttle bus from AirAsia airport - Tune Hotel (and the other way around) for just RM10. Pretty reasonable since cab services are definitely more expensive. Tune Hotel is highly recommanded for budget travellers. But the only downside of it is the location of the hotel is situated quite far away from KK city. Might be quite troublesome for those ppl who wanna enjoy the KK City Life.

Pizza Hut

I don't know what has got into me but over the past few weeks, I've been eating like a pig! I've gained 3kgs in just less than a months time (which is a big deal for me!!)

Yesterday, after finishing my dinner with my family around 5pm, YES! 5PM!! DINNER!! sigh.. I have to rush home everyday cause' since last 2 weeks, dinner starts at 4.30pm.. ki siao..

Anyway, the point is, after that dinner - with my tummy all full, I got a call from my bf asking me to accompany him to go and eat pizza. He said he knows how much I've been missing eating it and he never seems to find the time to enjoy it with me.. awww.. how am I suppose to say NO to that.. sigh.. sooo, not knowing wat I'm getting myself into, I said "ok, sure!"

Finally after 30mins, I got my ass to the Pizza Hut.

U can start seeing sorts of Christmas decoration around Miri already nowadays.

Have anyone tried this pizza already? Italian-Japanese pizza.. we wanted to try at first but after second thought.. maybe we should just play it safe by going back to basic, my FAVOURITE:
