Wedding Day (Part I) - 10th October 2009

All the stress + fights + quarrels + tears I've been thru for the past couple of weeks are all because of this VERY day - 10th October 2009. Whoever said preparing for a wedding is fun is a big fat liar!! Thank God I only have to do this once ;o)

I only managed to get a 2 hours shut eyes the night before the wedding.

Been up whole night talking and preparing for the "torturing session" with some of my bridesmaid WHILE the groom himself was busy having his so-called "bachelor night" with his brothers, singing karaoke!! MEN!!

If u wanna get something done, never rely on a man.

Woke up at 4am (which I thought was pretty damn early liao) and yet my makeup artist & my photographers were already downstair waiting for me - talking about being professional eh? ;oP


After showering + finishing a bowl of porridge by my mom, I walked over to my grandma house to get my make up done - she requested for the groom to fetch me up from the TIEW clan's first house since I'm the first grandchildren of hers to get married ;o)

Most of the people arrived at the house around 6am++

Including most of my bridesmaid, aunts, uncles and also my maid of honor.

I was really happy to have seen it that morning, can see from my happy happy face liao rite? haha.. u girls + guys are the best!! *muakkss*

From wat I've heard, the groom managed to get home around 6am.

He slept at the hotel with his brothers since he wasn't able to use his own room (chinese tradision) the night before the wedding.

Enough said bout the groom la.. it should be all about the Bride when it comes to a wedding, hiak hiak.. and since this is my blog, I better get back to my track ;oP

I finished my make up around 7am and with plenty of time to spare, I decided to walk around the house first to check on the chaos before putting on the gown..

after finished disturbing downstair, I came up to the room again to check on my maid of honor.. mm.. sure hopes she managed to get her make up done in time which of course, she did ;o)

Around 7.15am, I can hear my make up artist + mom starts shouting at me liao, "Jennifer Tiew Yen Lun! u better put own your gown now and STOP walking around! Act more like a bride instead of a 4 years old kid!"

After having them shout at me 3-4 times, cannot stand the nagging liao, I put own my gown lorr.. tsk.. wat's the rush anyway.. as if the groom is gonna run away, duh~~

Since I can't move much liao after putting on the wedding gown, the only thing I can start doing was TAKING PICTURES.. so, "Ian" was my favourite word once I put the gown on ;o) wat would u do if u have more than 20 ladies in a room? with all of them dress to kill?? camwhore liao la... jeng jeng jeng..

7.30am - doing last minute touch-up.

Friends + Family members are all here liao.. u can hear laughter and shouting all around the house. I can barely see my mom cause she was almost as busy as I was for the entire wedding ;oP

waiting for the time for my future-husband-to-be to fetch me up.. ishh.. wat's taking them so long anyway.. ok la, since I have some time to spare before I get to the next column, might as well blog about bout wat's going on at the other side of the wedding..

7.30am - all done preparing liao..

ok, right after I put on my veil, all I had to do is sit and wait in my room till the groom opens the door.. boring nehh.. I can hear my bridesmaid shouting and laughing the entire time. I bet they were all damn excited liao for the "torturing session"! sienzzz.. how I wish I can be there with them too!! torturing the men!!

7.45am - the arrival of the groom! FINALLY!!!

The groom has to give a "gold ring" to the bride's brother for opening the door for him upon his arrival.. untung lorr Vincent Tiew..

This is where ur nightmare begins boys.. hahaha..

First task!

Drinking the welcoming drink prepared by my cousin, Alex Chan!

I dunno how many types of alcohol he mixed in there but I'm sure it's not just plain Heineken or Tiger ;o(

After seeing the size of the lock.. the boys have no choice but to follow the orders of the "bulldogs" LOL!! - cause they're damn sure they won't be able to open the gate without the key!

Second task!

The Groom + Kalun Ho + Ben Ho

Basic one la.. push up nia..

More pressure on Ben since he is the one doing the one hand push up but for a strong + fit man like him, NO PROBLEM la..

From the look of their faces, I can't figure out whether they're all excited because of the torturing or was it because of the cute + handsome looking brothers..

Just when we're about to move into the 3rd task..

the men shouted, "We had enough! so tired and stressful, don't wanna get married liao la.. let's go!!"

And the ladies replied, "Go away lorr, don't turn back ooo.. it's not that Jennifer has anything to worried about since men will be lining up for her!"
Of course, after hearing that, the Men turns back la.. hahahaha.. (damn those ladies are good!)

Then, move on to the 3rd task!

Passing seaweed from mouth to mouth by the men..

This is not that hard la, only some of them might be disgusted since they'll be kissing each other some of the time ;oP

Just when we're about to move on with the 4th task, the groom found a way to sneak in the house using the back door!! which I later on found out it was my own cousin who helped him in!! *&^%$#@!
Well, since the men rushed into the house liao, the ladies had to move to plan B (which is duno wat), having to skip most of the torturing sessions, the ladies have to play using their instinct. The first thing they did was guarding the staircase, blocking the men from going up to the bride's room.. gotta say, they did a pretty good job until ONE men decided it's time to play rough!!

CCH aka my-so-called-brother (who betrayed me): "Since they don't wanna move, gentlemen!! let's make them MOVE away, carry them off the way one by one!!"

this is not a bad move too actually.. at least I'm 100% damn sure my bridesmaid are enjoying this as much as the men are.. free hugs by good looking men, who could resist right? hahaha.. Chai Yu is still talking about it until this very day!! tsk tsk tsk.. what kind of sisters are they??

The Groom, "ok ok.. Im free to go.. have to move quickly before the bulldogs returns"

Finally, they managed to get up the stair, after the long struggle!

Last but not least, before the groom can see the bride, he has to complete the "Love Pledge". Make promises which he will have to keep.

1. Sex will be given when needed (yea rite..)

2. Argue only once in a blue moon (impossible lorr..)
3. Money is urs all the time ($_$)
4. Housework divided by 2

5. Babies 1 + 1 is enough (thank God)

6. Will always give u happiness (I sure hope so)

7. Anniversary + Birthday, will always give u presents

8. Travelling at least once a year

9. Faithfullness, loving u forever

The war and struggle has finally ended!

I'm sure my husband has never been so relief to see me lorr.. haha..

The gate to heaven finally opens around 8.30am, finished too early than planned ;o(

Groom, "never been so glad to see u my dear" - I'm making this up! haha..

Bride, "ladies, did u managed to get 100 angpows?"

Bulldogs, "NO!! only 70!! sienzz.."

Finally, I'm out of the room!!

Been waiting for about 1 hour.. when everyone was having fun, me + maid of honor was just sitting in the room, listening to ppl's laughter and noises.. sienz lorr.. can't wait to check out the videos liao den.. haha..

Heading downstair, for the tea ceremony and all those tradision stuff..

...... while I was having my tea ceremony, my bridesmaid were all busy camwhoring with the brothers, good-looking brothers lorr! tsk tsk tsk.. shame on them.. haii.. the next time any of u getting married, make sure ur husband don't bring too much good looking brothers along cause when single ladies see good looking men, they go wild! ;oP
